Exploring Spirituality through Music and Art
Christ Church Cathedral will once again offer Summer in the City Camps for children that bring a new depth to other offerings in the region. During the choir camp, children will sing, play instruments, create art, play games, enjoy good meals and explore Christian faith. On Friday evening, they will sing at a Holy Eucharist to which families are invited. The art camp will explore ways in which sacred stories have been passed down over the centuries, what materials were used and how said medium was created. The cathedral will be partnering with Brazee Street Studio and their artists to create beautiful kiln-fired glass pieces for this program.
Each week-long camp will be led by professional musicians and artists who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, inspiration and spirituality with young people. And each is built upon the same principles: to use the sacred space of the cathedral to nurture both the faith and the artistic development of children.
These vibrant summer programs provide children from the cathedral congregation, the diocesan parishes and the community beyond an opportunity to come and enjoy an experience that intentionally and openly encourages them to awaken to their own inner spirituality, no matter what their beliefs.
