Our cathedral choir is an ensemble of auditioned choristers who sing at weekly Sunday services of Holy Eucharist, monthly services of Evensong and other major liturgical observances in the church year. The choir helps support congregational singing and offers a range of choral literature from the Anglican cathedral tradition, the folk tradition of African-Americans, newly written works and idioms from other cultures. Choral Scholar Program

Our Cathedral Choir of Boys and Girls fosters a life-long enjoyment and appreciation of music through the singing of sacred choral compositions. In developing their musicianship skills, the boys and girls are able to explore Christian faith so that singing with the choir also nurtures interest in the ministry of making music. This city-wide choir is open to any child age 7-11 (grade 2-6). No prior musical experience is required, but applicants audition in person so that vocal ability and musicality can be assessed. Rehearsals are 7:00 to 8:15 on Wednesday evenings and are based on the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) Voice for Life curriculum. 

Occasionally, the Boys and Girls Choir sings during worship at the cathedral, but this involvement is intentionally limited so that choristers can continue attending their own parishes. While boys and girls are encouraged to join the choir at the beginning of the church program year (September), interested applicants may be accepted at other times during the year.
